Ivy's Americans and American Satins:

I raise Americans and American Satins in Reds, REO's, and Golden Solids. I have been working on my reds for years now and specialize in American satins. My first Satin American Red came from Jill Babitz back in 1998 at ARBA Nationals in Portland, OR. The sow I bought from her was Kiki, what a beautiful sow, she was the foundation mother of my reds.

Just recently I started with the REO's I figure I could try crossing the two and see if I cant get some nice looking REO's with great color and nice ear and feet color to match. My reds are known for having good ear and feet color matching there coat, without the usual black tinging.

At the EERBA show in March I picted up a beautiful American golden solid jr boar from the Hagey's. At the Canby show I picted up also from them a gorgious golden solid sr sow. These two are the starting of my golden solid breeding program.

In the past I bred American golden solids and did fairly well at showing them, I love the color.

Kiki is a good little sow, she is a decendent of kiki. She is a very strong little sow, she was born the only one to survive out of a litter of 6, the next day her mother died. She then went to a foster mother who took care of her for a week, then to another mother untill she was weenable.
Last year in August she had a litter of three, twards the end of the second week she was almost hairless, and was very week, I had a buyer for her and the two of the babies, along with almost all of the rest of my reds. I sent her with her new owners to a cavy show, at the end of the show the family called me up and asked me if on their way home if they could drop her off because she was near dead, they said she wouldn't eat. This was a 4-H family the mom didn't want her kids to see her die and figured if any one had a chance to save her it was me.
So they brought her back, and yes she was near death. I began force feeding her Oxbows Critical Care, and withing a few days she popped out of it. She has since then had another litter. This little sow of mine has proven she needs to stay at home the rest of her life.
